I had a powerful consultation on yesterday with a friend who’s an amazing Feng Shui expert. I’m familiar with Feng Shui but had no idea that it could be useful in heightening one’s own self-awareness. I ended up learning something about myself that was quite profound. And the ramifications are so significant that the knowledge that I gained will absolutely serve me in a powerful way. Very grateful indeed.

This is one of the reasons why self-awareness is ground zero for all of my work whether it’s one-on-one coaching, resume writing or training. Self-awareness is the fuel that catapults our growth. Knowledge is powerful. But knowledge of self is essential.

During our conversation, I also learned about the energetic connection between things that are paired. Turns out when two things are separated that belong together, they will attempt to physically reconnect.

Perhaps this is why we’ve heard stories, over time, about the miraculous ways that people with some sort of connection have found their way to one another in astonishing ways, whether it’s a person finding their birth parents in some mind-boggling way, twins who never met connecting under extraordinary circumstances — or even romantic partners miraculously finding themselves in the same place after having been separated for years and years.

This part of the conversation with my friend reminded me of a situation that occurred several years ago. My niece was getting married and we had spent the day trying on dresses at a bunch of different stores. I had my wedding ring on as usual and after I got home that evening, I realized that the center stone was missing. I was totally crushed. And since we had been to so many different places, trying to retrace my steps was not even a remote possibility. So, after allowing myself adequate time and space to be sad, I moved on.

About a week later, I had to return to try on a dress at David’s Bridal, one of the many stores that we’d been to the week before. The store attendant placed me in a dressing room and I commenced with trying on the dress. As I did so, I happened to look down, and in the corner of the dressing room was my diamond.

I was stunned. So much so that I called the attendant and explained to her what had happened. She too was floored. Not only was it incredible that I’d ended up in the same dressing room, but she further explained that the situation was even more miraculous than I understood. Turns out that they actually vacuumed those dressing rooms every day. And this was a week later.

So, if we insert the laws of Feng Shui, I guess we can say that the diamond and the ring were energetically paired and so somehow they miraculously reconnected.

I have studied enough and experienced enough to know that there are massive bodies of wisdom and knowledge available to us and I believe that we have only scratched the surface in terms of our current levels of understanding. It also appears that as more and more information is illuminated, we see that it’s all connected. Different disciplines are simply affirming one another and pointing to the same truths, just using different languages to get there.

So, Feng Shui and many other systems of laws show us that somehow, we will always get to where we need to be.

Our task is to make sure that we are aligned and open to the possibilities that want to unfold before us and within us. And I fully understand that even the alignment itself is something that takes place over time and that it happens as we are ready to shift to new levels and in different ways. In this regard, there is no need to be anxious about any of the details. We just have to learn to relax and trust the process.

When I’m coaching my one-on-one clients, we will inevitably end up in that space where there is lots of emerging anxiety over some type of career decision that needs to be made and I will always remind them to relax and trust that there is no such thing as a wrong decision.

And as often as necessary, I remind them of a powerful quote by Carolyn Myss that I learned many years ago which says, “There is no right or wrong and heaven does not punish.”

Just as it was with my ring and the diamond, somehow, energetically, we always find our way to where we’re supposed to be. And whether that place is a connection to a person, an experience or a job, it will happen if and when it’s supposed to.

Wishing you a magical day of diamonds and possibilities.
