And so it begins. As we welcome in a new year, millions upon millions of people are settling their minds on goals they would like to achieve in 2019. Lose weight. Find a mate. Get that promotion. Become debt free. Each new year brings with it the promise of new beginnings and delightful possibilities. And despite what the naysaying “anti-new year’s resolutionists” say, there is a certain wisdom in stepping into the tide of this magnetic momentum as many commit to starting anew.

Now, in seeming contrast to this, I must admit that for the first time in maybe forever, I’m entering into the new year without a lot of specific goals and intentions. Instead, I am choosing to date 2019 with the expectation that it will woo me with wonder.

This is in part, because I am appreciatively, very settled.

My life feels pretty magical most of the time and I am happy to dance with what already is as I continue to enjoy the good that has come my way.

Also, 2019 is a milestone year for me, because in February, I turn 50. And being in this space feels loose and free in the best way. I have no demands, only the expectation that Life will continue to bestow upon me the good that already has my name on it.

So, instead of detailing a list of goals, I am entering the year under the umbrella of a theme that makes me feel even more settled and free… “Expansion and Ease”. I will bathe in the feeling of this daily and delight in the beauty that it brings.

Where do you fall in all of this? Are you detailing your desires with specificity or wearing them loosely as I am? Regardless of where you stand, I wanted to offer a tip of sorts for how you can significantly improve the odds of realizing what you desire to create.

First set the atmosphere.

We’ve been trained to believe that the pathway to success is by doggedly pursuing our desires with great determination and massive action. And though resolve and action are often key ingredients, your efforts will be most effective when they emanate from an aligned and inspired place.

When you are aligned with your best and highest self, then you get to enjoy the support of universal forces that will aid you and move you forward with greater ease and unfailing grace.

When you are aligned, you feel sure and you walk through the world with a sense of knowing that all is well… and with that knowing, you trust that you are guided at every turn.

You walk through the world with an openness and an ability to hear your own inner guidance, which will always direct you in ways that advance and preserve your wholeness.

You walk through the world without resistance to the experiences that come your way, because the greater part of you understands that they all serve.

The way to get aligned is to create an atmosphere that invites your true self, i.e. your highest self to take the lead as you recognize it as the part of you that dances in concert with the Universe.

Set the atmosphere.

Make it a priority to get grounded by doing things that feed your soul, even if it’s simply basking in quietude.

Cultivate your feel-good space with fierceness and when people and moods that bite at your vibe appear, bless them, send them along on their way and reestablish your sovereign rule.

Break with conventional rules and ideologies that leave your calendar beyond full and your back pained by the weight of things you were never meant to carry.

Try less. Trust more.

When we set the atmosphere in this way, we acknowledge and welcome the divine to make our journey light and we are carried with the flow of Life itself, instead of clawing to achieve.

We were never meant to do this alone.

One of my favorite phrases is … “Not by my might”..

Set the atmosphere.

Make the space that surrounds you a sacred space that welcomes and invites your desires.

If there’s a part of you that breathed a deep sigh of release from just imagining what this type of existence might feel like and you know that you could use some support with moving in this direction, I invite you to join me for the Success by Being Workshop that I’m hosting, along with my dynamic friend and colleague, Molly Purvines in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It’s the one-day version of the Success by Being retreat that we are offering in order to make the content more accessible as an intimate container with a group of like-minded women who are ready to achieve success by being more and doing less.

We’ve set the workshop at a very reasonable rate and it’s going to be amazing. I know this because Molly and I are setting the atmosphere. :)

If you want to register or learn more, click here. And, of course, if you have questions, let me know.

Blessings to you, my friend. May 2019 hold all the good that you can imagine and more.  Happy New Year!!!

Wholeheartedly,
Monica

It is that we should have a new soul.”
